Classes

I have designed the classes and workshops with all skill levels in mind.  The focus of the retreat is more on creativity than on difficult class projects.  You'll be stretched creatively all weekend to think outside the box and work nature into your jewelry in new and unexpected ways.

All class supplies are included. Click here for tools that are needed.

Organic Pods
Explore several ways to make simple polymer clay headpins sculpted with a few easy tricks to look like various pods. Using several mixed media treatments we'll create beautifully painted finishes on each pod. You'll create 10-12 pods during this workshop. I'll share several examples of jewelry featuring the pods for future inspiration.

Forest Floor Mokume Gane Polymer Clay Beads
We'll spend several hours creating these awesome beads that using an ancient metalsmithing technique that has been translated into polymer clay. I'll cover tips for getting the most out of your color selection and a few tips on color theory to create beads that pop visually. We'll create a collection of beads and various flat shapes to use in bracelets and pendants in our afternoon workshop.

Color choices: Patina (teal, blue, green), Rust (purple, orange, brown), or Sunset (purple, pink, yellow)

Forest Floor Jewelry
We'll pull out the hammers and bench blocks to create textured metal plates as backdrops for our Forest Floor polymer clay components. You'll make a bracelet, earrings and necklace during this session.

Maple Leaf Seeds Metal Sketches
I'll cover cutting metal with sheers, texturing and shaping the copper with hammers and patina to create these lovely copper seeds. Create your own sterling silver earwires to finish the design. You'll be ready to wear these home at the end of our retreat!
