U.F.O. Party

What is a weekend in the woods without a U.F.O. spotting?

U.F.Os and Asteroids with Erin Prais-Hintz

Are you ever lost in space when it comes to jewelry design? Do you start building that rocket ship only to find out that it can't get into orbit? Have you started a project that looks like it might be better sucked into a black hole? If you are like me, you have many U.F.Os and Asteroids littering your beading table and cluttering your jewelry box. U.F.Os (aka unfinished objects of jewelry) and Asteroids (those uninhabitable duds that didn't sell or were not quite right) can be revved into hyper-speed with just a little tinkering. Using the principles of color, scale, balance and pattern, you will be surprised at how you can send these U.F.Os and Asteroids soaring into the stratosphere!

(While bead embroidery projects and beadweaving are wonderful, in the interest of time we will be focusing on stringing designs.)

Please be prepared to take the pieces apart to give them new life. And if you are willing to share your extra U.F.Os and Asteroids with others in the group, it will be even more fun to make out of this world jewelry!

What to bring:

Bring one U.F.O or Asteroid to trade.  Your partner will take it apart and re-work it into a new design after we hear Erin's presentation and tips.

Feel free to bring one or two of the following to take apart and use in your design:

U.F.Os - unfinished objects of jewelry, projects you abandoned, kits you purchased but never completed
Asteroids - unloved and unsellable objects of jewelry
Falling Stars - if you don't have any U.F.Os or Asteroids, feel free to bring those (gasp!) department store jewelry pieces that are lurking in your jewelry box that you don't wear because they are out of style or just lost in space

*Rations - extra beads or components that you want to use, clasps, chain, spacers, etc.
